Public broadcaster TVRI will broadcast a one-day educational program called Belajar dari Rumah (Study at Home) for three months to help students who need to study at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
TVRI’s interim director Supriyono said the program was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture.
“The program will cover learning materials for elementary, middle and high school students, as well as additional information on parenting,” Supriyono said at a press briefing on Friday.
The broadcaster’s acting news and programming director Usrin Usman said the educational program would begin airing at 8 a.m. on Monday.
“In addition to educational programs for students Monday through Friday, we will also be broadcasting orientation programs for teachers and parents, as well as cultural programs on weekends,” Usrin said.

The programs will focus on the development of literacy, digital skills, character and life skills of students.
“All documents will be delivered in a simple and entertaining way. The program will be monitored and evaluated by the ministry and civil society organizations, ”Usrin said.
Education and Culture Minister Nadiem Makarim said Belajar dari Rumah was the ministry’s effort to help students facing barriers in distance learning on the Internet.
“This program could help students who have limited access to the Internet for economic or geographic reasons,” Nadiem said Thursday, quoted by Kompas.com. (dpk)
