Educational Assistance Ends September 24 – DSWD

(UPDATE) THE Department for Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Saturday that the last day for distributing education aid to needy students will be September 24.

Processing of the cash assistance application, both on-site and online, will also end on the same day.

“This is because the program’s budget is halfway through and our database has already received two million registrations,” DSWD spokesman Romel Lopez told a news conference. on line.

Lopez added that since August 20, a total of 735,263,800 pesos from the 1.5 billion peso education aid fund have been disbursed to 293,205 students nationwide.

Lopez said DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo was to meet with House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez to ask for help in maintaining the cash assistance program.

Under this scheme, DSWD will provide cash assistance of P1,000 to primary school students, P2,000 to junior high school students, P3,000 to senior high school students and P4,000 P to students of colleges or vocational courses.

The maximum number of students eligible for financial aid per family is three.
