Wondering if the Music Industry Essentials course at NYU Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and Billboard, powered by Yellowbrick, is right for you? If so, you can participate in a live Zoom call this afternoon to hear from a student currently enrolled in the course and see all the course has to offer, as well as her personal experience. Listeners will have the ability to ask questions in real time and will be better equipped with the information needed to decide if the program is something of interest to them.
The six-course, 20+ hour program strives to equip prospective students with the tools necessary to lay the foundation for a successful career in the industry. As well as learning a lot about several different aspects of the music world – including the evolution of recorded music, streaming rights, and fan engagement – course participants also have access to information preferred experts from across the industry. These experts include Kerry Gordy, Stevie Mackey, Ryan Leslie and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, as well as staff from Billboard and professors at NYU.
Music Industry Essentials has also continued to strengthen the program since its initial launch in June 2019: it recently added a full 360-degree preview inside the Beastie Boys’ Oscilloscope Laboratories studio in the program’s fifth module, which provides over 30 minutes of new material for students.
