On Rabbi’s Yahrzeit Lipa DubraskyVancouver’s legendary and beloved shliach, who dedicated his life to teaching and spreading Torah and Chassidus, JLI has announced a new educational program in his memory.

Coordinated by the Rabbi Berri Spitezkison-in-law of Rabbi Dubrawsky, of blessed memory, on his yahrtzeit (27 Nissan), the new program, entitled: Cultivating Kindness, is being developed and piloted in Canada in partnership with the MADA organization in Montreal, under the direction of Rabbi Chaim Shlomo Cohen.

JLI will unveil the program in other countries by local shluchim as a tribute to Rabbi Dubrawsky’s legacy of scholarship and the sharing of Jewish wisdom and Chasidus with the world.

The new initiative will convey the ideas and values central to the heart of kindness, imbuing students with the priceless appreciation of the gift. This topic was chosen because Rabbi Dubrawsky epitomized the very example of giving and spreading kindness, organizers said.

A comprehensive three-part seminar designed to educate participants about kindness, the program will raise awareness of poverty and instill a sense of responsibility in those less fortunate. Led by qualified instructors, the sessions will invite participants to participate in volunteer activities, reflect on their experiences and get used to introducing acts of kindness into their environment.

Cultivating Kindness is being developed for launch worldwide, giving thousands of Jews the opportunity to enjoy their role in service to others. It brings a new understanding of the meaning of kindness and giving, as well as unique opportunities to volunteer with local charities.
