Enrollment opened last week for discounted dual-credit courses at the University of Idaho. Classes are $75 per credit hour for Idaho residents. Classes can be taken in person on campus, online, or through blended instruction.
Idaho students in grades 9 through 12 can participate in the U of I dual credit program. Idaho public and accredited students can apply their $4,125 of allocated state funds advanced opportunities dedicated to dual credit and exams in U of I curriculum courses. Students who exhaust these funds may also enroll in U of I dual credit courses at the same discounted rate.
Students at home schools or private schools can use the $750 allocated to them by the state’s Student Opportunity Assistance Program.
Credits can be applied toward U of I graduation or transferred to other colleges and universities. Registration largely closes September 2, but deadlines vary by class.
Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA to enroll. High school students can enroll in a maximum of seven credits per semester. After completing 32 credit hours on campus at the U of I or online, students can continue their dual-credit enrollment on campus at their high school. Enrollment in dual credit courses on high school campuses opens when classes start in the fall.
The U of I dual credit program has been in existence for 25 years and serves 1,800 students in 42 of Idaho’s 44 counties.
