Start your career path at Galway Community College of Further Education

Galway Community College, GCC, is one of the leading continuing education course providers in the city of Galway, offering full-time QQI accredited courses at levels 5 and 6. It offers courses in six specialist departments, design and technology ; sport; cinema, music and theatre; science and engineering; Social Protection; and Business and Secretarial. The college is currently busy developing new courses based on employment opportunities and course demands to suit learners. The option of studying a PLC/continuing education course is now attractive to school leavers and those hoping to improve their employment opportunities or progress to courses at local and national higher education institutions. Students can convert their QQI results into CAD points, up to 390 points for most courses and more for others. Course completion can also be used to investigate an area of ​​study before committing to a degree course in that area. The costs involved are low compared to higher education courses. Continuing education courses may be eligible for a SUSI scholarship, and the fee for most full-time courses in GCC is €175. More information on fees can be found at

GCC offers fully-funded Erasmus placements where there are plenty of opportunities for overseas work experience. GCC offers all students the opportunity to complete their professional experience abroad through the Erasmus program and has established internship links with partner colleges in Europe.
